HELM Community Fund - Support to Working Mothers Day Care Initiative

On 30th April in Dhaka, Bangladesh around 150 people attended the launch ceremony of the HELM Community Fund sponsored 'Support to Working Mothers Day Care Initiative' which was held in the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General. Developing in partnership with the Comptroller and Auditor General's Office Welfare Association, the initiative is aimed at providing high quality, safe and affordable child care to contribute to the goal of creating a working environment where women can flourish and contribute fully to the work of the Audit Department.

The initiative links to another aspect of the HELM Community Fund's work in Bangladesh in that high quality training in child care will be provided to three young women who are about to leave a residential child care home in Uttara, Dhaka. The training will be arranged and supported by HELM Community Fund.

The ceremony was attended by the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh and the Auditor General of Brunei, who signified the launch of the initiative by cutting a symbolic ribbon and declaring open a child friendly play room which was donated to the initiative by the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh and furnished by the HELM Community Fund.
