The Three C's
Community Involvement
HELM has always had a strong belief of involvement in the wider community and encouraging the entire company to contribute to promotion of sports, wider social and caring concerns which come to our attention. In the sporting area we have concentrated on lesser known sporting activities and assisted not only financially but also in promotion of the sport. The company team has gained from this interaction learning about "dynamic flexibility" from the Irish Bobsleigh Team, and about determination and commitment from the Ulster to the Munster Women's Rugby Teams and the NI Everest Expedition.
Concern for Others
As part of our commitment to developing countries where we work we have targeted specific charities and encouraged our staff to get involved. The best example of this is the Acid Survivors Trust in Bangladesh where HELM provided long-term support for administrative running costs, and the HELM staff purchased all the beds for the new hospital. Similar donations and contributions to children's charities in Asia and Africa have taken place. In the UK/Ireland HELM makes regular contributions to charities with which our team have involvement in a personal capacity.
Craic Within
The Irish/Ulster word 'craic' means having a good time, and HELM still as a young and vibrant company consists of individuals who enjoy what they are doing. We have worked hard to keep our structures flat and to create involvement throughout all our team. Regular features include social events, breakfasts, and participation in company organised activities. All staff share in our annual profit pool and the success of HELM is their success.
